The Flood by Bizarre Brewing is a London-Style Brown Porter created as a nod to traditional English brown porters and an homage to the victims of the 1814 London Beer Flood. The recipe features a malt bill of English Maris Otter, flaked barley, rye, a selection of caramel and chocolate malts, and a touch of beechwood smoked malt. It is hopped in the kettle with East Kent Goldings and Magnum, then fermented and naturally carbonated using an English ale yeast. This brewing process yields a flavorful, creamy profile with bittersweet notes of chocolate, toast, caramel, and a light, lingering smokiness.
