Kölsch by Chuckanut Brewery is an authentic, top-fermented ale brewed as a throwback to the days before lagers took over the Germanic world. Crafted with a unique yeast strain sourced directly from Cologne, this very pale beer presents a light aromatic blend of hops, malt, and fruit. The palate is light-bodied and bone-dry with restrained bitterness, featuring a soft malt flavor in the center that gives way to a drying, slightly acidic finish. To achieve its signature smoothness, the beer undergoes one to two months of cold conditioning, resulting in a well-crafted, highly traditional interpretation of the historic German style.
