Tough Love [banished] 2018

Crux Fermentation Project · Stout - Russian Imperial · 11.5% ABV

Tough Love [BANISHED] 2018 is a Russian Imperial Stout brewed by Crux Fermentation Project that serves as an homage to traditional interpretations of the style. The beer is constructed with dark roasted malts, malted rye, and oak-smoked wheat before being aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels. This barrel-aging process smooths out the bold edges of the stout, allowing the initial bitterness to subside. The resulting profile features nuanced and complex layers, highlighted by tender strokes of vanilla beans and hints of dried cherries.
