Sad Wings by E9 Brewing Co. is a monumental American Imperial Stout that boasts an exceptionally deep sensory profile achieved by aging the beer for a full year in Heaven's Hill distillery bourbon barrels. The resulting brew pours with a persistent dark tan head and delivers intense aromas alongside upfront flavors of smooth caramel and vanilla. These sweet notes transition into roasty cacao, eventually finishing with a boozy bourbon warmth and a lightly bitter, roasted aftertaste. Certain variants of this stout have also been produced using a double barrel-aging process in Woodford Reserve and Buffalo Trace barrels.
