DBA (Double Barrel Ale) is the trailblazing flagship English-style Pale Ale that launched Firestone Walker Brewing Company in 1996. The beer is partially fermented in the brewery's patented Firestone Union oak-barrel brewing system, a method inspired by the traditional Burton Union process. During brewing, 20 percent of the beer ferments in 60-gallon heavy toast American oak barrels while the remaining 80 percent ferments in stainless steel before being blended together. Crafted with pale malts from Nottingham, hops from Kent, and British yeast, it delivers a sweet and toasty malt aroma. The flavor profile features a smooth middle with notes of caramel, English toffee, and toasted oak, complemented by subtle hints of vanilla and fruit. It has 30 IBU.
