Etymology (2024)

Fort George Brewery · Barleywine - Other · 13.1% ABV

Etymology (2024) by Fort George Brewery is a bold and balanced barrel-aged barleywine created by blending two distinct variations of the style. The blend consists of Etym, an English Barleywine aged in Westward Whiskey barrels for 20 months, and Ology, an American Barleywine aged in Westward Whiskey barrels for 12 months alongside a red barleywine aged in Russell Rye barrels for 12 months. This careful blending process results in a complex, highly refined beer featuring a deep chestnut color, rich malty sweetness, and pronounced whiskey barrel character, culminating in a well-balanced, bitter finish.
