Etymology (2025)
Fort George Brewery · Barleywine - Other · 13.1% ABV
Etymology (2025) by Fort George Brewery is a smooth, rich, and balanced barrel-aged barleywine created by blending two distinct variations of the style. The first component, called Etym, is a dark, traditional English-style barleywine aged in Westward Whiskey barrels for 30 months. The second component, Ology, is a nuanced and toasty blend of modern barleywines aged in Heaven Hill and George Dickel barrels for 20 months, and Westward Rye barrels for 25 months. To add further depth and complexity, the final blend also incorporates additional barleywines aged for 20 months in Basil Hayden, Russell's Reserve, and Russell's Rye barrels, alongside a portion aged for 40 months in Willett barrels.
