Matryoshka (2025) is a Russian Imperial Stout brewed by Fort George Brewery. The base beer is aged for one year in Westward and Westland whiskey and bourbon barrels, a process that tempers its dessert-like sweetness to produce a rich, smooth, and flavorful profile that is neither too thick nor too thin. It is brewed with Cascade hops, ESB yeast, and an extensive malt bill consisting of GW 2-Row, Briess Black Barley, GM Flaked Oats, Munich 10, C-40, Gambrinus Honey Malt, Chocolate Malt, Brown Malt, Dark Chocolate, and Roasted Barley.
