Vortex IPA by Fort George Brewery is a classic American IPA named in reverence to a tornado that nearly scattered the brewery's original brew system across the cornfields of Nebraska. It is brewed with generous additions of Simcoe, Apollo, Comet, and Chinook hops throughout the brewing, fermentation, and conditioning phases, and is supported by a malt bill of Great Western 2-Row and Grain Millers Flaked Wheat. Pouring a bright gold with an off-white foam, the beer features aromas of pine needles, citrus, melon, and resin. The flavor delivers an upfront bitterness balanced by a moderate malty sweetness, designed to vigorously stimulate the palate with lupulin ecstasy without overwhelming the taste buds.
