Grapefruit IPA by Ghostfish Brewing Company is a dedicated gluten-free American IPA that delivers a powerful citrus punch. It is brewed with a gluten-free base consisting of water, sorghum, brown rice, candi syrup, and tapioca maltodextrin, alongside actual grapefruit puree and yeast to highlight its refreshing citrus notes. The beer is brewed with a blend of Cascade and Horizon hops, followed by a dry-hopping addition of Altus hops, which were originally codenamed Experimental Grapefruit. This brewing process creates a bracingly bitter and bright flavor profile with a pungent aroma reminiscent of grapefruit rind rather than sweet juice, resulting in a highly aromatic citrus bomb with 85 IBU.
