Ol' Lifewine 2022 by Matchless Brewing is an English-style Barleywine aged for a year in Westward Whiskey barrels. The brew features a malt bill consisting of Maris Otter, Amber, and Brown malts, along with a touch of smoked malt, which are paired with East Kent Golding hops. This combination creates a rich, malty base with caramelized tones and complex flavors of toffee, maple, and raisin. The extended barrel aging imparts smooth, oaky notes of vanilla, whiskey, and tobacco in the finish.
