Transatlantique Kriek
New Belgium Brewing Company · Lambic - Kriek · 5.2% ABV
Transatlantique Kriek is a transcontinental collaboration between New Belgium Brewing and Oud Beersel, a historic lambic brewery in Belgium's Zenne valley. The brewing process begins with an authentic lambic aged in Oud Beersel's oak vessels, which is then blended with tart Polish cherries and shipped to New Belgium in Colorado. There, it is blended with an equal portion of New Belgium's golden sour ale that has been aged for up to three years in oak foeders. Brewed with Pale malt, Red Wheat, Carapils, and Roasted Barley, along with Nugget hops and lager yeast, this cherry lambic sour ale features an intense cherry nose, a tart snap, and a refreshing, dry finish.
