pFriem Family Brewers Mexican Dark Lager is a marriage of Vienna Lager brewing traditions with Mexican ingredients and techniques. The beer is brewed with a base of German Pilsner malt and locally sourced Vienna malt, along with dark specialty malts like Weyermann Carafa Special II and CaraRed, and flaked maize to soften the body. It is hopped with German-grown Perle and Saaz hops. This combination creates a rich, dark-colored lager with a bright, toasted base and enticing aromas of toffee, s'mores, cocoa, and baked apple. On the palate, it offers drinkable flavors of mole, Nutella, raisins, and cinnamon, finishing with a velvety yet highly quaffable mouthfeel.
