Temptation by Russian River Brewing Company is a Wild Ale that begins as a blonde ale before undergoing a complex aging process. It is aged for 9 to 15 months in used Chardonnay barrels sourced from local Sonoma County wineries. During this time, the beer is inoculated with a blend of Brettanomyces, Lactobacillus, and Pediococcus, which imparts a pleasant sourness and rustic funk. The resulting brew is medium-bodied and features distinct notes of oak and Chardonnay wine, funky Brett characteristics, and a nice, long sour finish.
